Bio-Medical Instrumentation Engineering (BMIE) is the application of engineering principles and design concepts to medicine and biology for healthcare purposes (e.g. diagnostic or therapeutic). This field seeks to close the gap between engineering and medicine: It combines the design and problem-solving skills of engineering with medical and biological sciences to advance healthcare treatment, including diagnosis, monitoring, and therapy.

There is a growing demand for biomedical engineers in the healthcare industry for improved diagnosis, monitoring, and therapy. This includes installation, testing, calibration, and maintenance of sophisticated electronic and computer-monitored medical equipment and systems. Research-oriented jobs deal with the development of biomedical prostheses, various enhanced imaging techniques, and advanced micro-implants. Biomedical engineers work closely with life scientists, chemists, and medical professionals.

Healthcare sectors, medical equipment manufacturers, sales, and service engineers in hospitals, medical labs, and OEMS. Biomedical Engineers are eligible in the Government sector and Private sector.
